As therapeutic laser technology advances at a pace, at Laser Medicine we feel consider it incredibly important that we embrace technical advancements in the field, and continue to develop our therapeutic laser offering. Never has this been more relevant than in relation to the great strides made in laser manufacturing over the last few years, to harness the power of Class 4 therapeutic laser.
After careful consideration of the current market we decided to introduce the K Laser Cube Class 4 Therapeutic Laser to our portfolio of laser equipment, to deliver a wide range of healing and aesthetic Laser Medicine Laser Therapy Services. Many of our patients are already benefiting from the sophisticated and advanced application of laser energy for healing and recovery of many conditions that K Laser provides.
Class 4 laser poses interesting questions in the therapeutic laser field, as the Class 4 classification of laser covers relatively low power devices for healing, such as the K Laser Cube, all the way to extremely powerful surgical lasers that are used for key hole surgery, to even higher powered lasers used within the military, for example. From a laser classification point of view they all fall within the same Class 4 category, however there are major differences.
In the case of Class 4 therapeutic laser, the power of the laser is so low that it will not cause a thermal reaction within the skin or tissue, and yet will distribute the healing wavelengths of red and infrared light (600nm – 1,000nm) into skin tissue in the most effective and targeted way. This means for higher energy doses in shorter periods of time, and incredibly targeted light which penetrates deep into the tissue, with coherent beams of light, exactly where it is required.
At Laser Medicine we always refer to clinical studies to make our decisions. For the effectiveness of therapeutic laser on a host of medical conditions, we know that it is only when laser moves in the realm of Class 3b and Class 4 therapeutic laser that significant results are achieved. For example, there is a lack of clear information for the consumer at the moment, as manufacturers of low cost red light LED devices are citing clinical trials carried out with laser (class 3b and class 4) which is misleading at best.
The K Laser therapeutic laser system uses selected wavelengths of light to stimulate key molecules in human tissues. Decades of medical research have identified the wavelengths, energy levels and frequencies the positively stimulate cellular metabolism, to accelerate and enhance the body’s own healing and reparative ability.
Therapeutic laser energy penetrates deep into musculoskeletal tissues and accelerates cell metabolism by increasing blood flow, nutrients absorption, and cell division, and by improving the excretion of waste products. As a result, skin, tendons, ligaments and muscles are repaired faster with reduced inflammation, scarring and pain.
