A few years ago we were inspired by the work of Lorinda Zimmerman at W Skin Care in Canada, who was way ahead of her time. She worked with Hollywood actors and models in Toronto and California, providing Cold Laser Facials for natural skin rejuvenation when they were on set and red carpet. A few of Lorrinda’s clients found us when they travelled to London, and we saw a glimmer of hope that the industry embraced the Cold Laser Facial as a must-go beauty regime for natural skin rejuvenation. In the last two years the ‘Red Light Facial’ blew up and is set to stay.

How do Red Light Facials work?

Cold Laser optimises the process of photobiomodulation using lightwaves for healing and regeneration:

  • Increased production of collagen in the epidermis.
  • Increased production of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) or energy at a cellular level.
  • Increased oxygenated blood flow and improved circulation.
  • A decrease in inflammation.
  • Protects the moisture barrier.
  • Reduces dark circles and pigmentation.
  • Healthier skin.

Cold Laser Facials reduces the visible signs of ageing and maintains optimum skin health. The method is non-invasive and does not create heat in the skin. Photobiomodulation Therapy encourages the production of fresh new cells and their appearance at the skin’s surface. Skin starts to behave like younger skin, because effectively it is younger.

Our approach to Cold Laser / Red Light Facials

Because we are experts in Photobiomodulation Therapy as a medical health treatment, we approach Red Light Cold Laser Facials in a geeky way. We tend to work with Class 3b Lasers combined with LED devices, because we know that a Class 3b Laser delivers a coherent wavelength of light directly into the tissue. LED devices scatter light across the skin’s surface, which is great for a superficial glow, however Class 3b lasers penetrate deeper into the epidermis and dermis to tackle issues such as wrinkles and skin laxity.

Our Cold Laser Facials use Class 3b lasers, which may create a slight increase of heat in the skin, however a Class 3b Laser would not ablate the skin or create a thermal response like surgical /aesthetic lasers. Instead, Class 3b Laser triggers a chain of biological processes in the skin cells (and deeper) which is known as Photobiomodulation Therapy. Class 3b Laser delivers Red Light Therapy (RLT) for Cold Laser Facials, using red and near infrared wavelengths at the optimum power output to produce the best results for skin rejuvenation.

During a treatments coherent beams of light are smoothed over the face and neck. We also focus on facial acupuncture points to stimulate a lift at key points on the contour of the face. This process also cleanses toxins from the skin.

Cold Laser Facails go beyond skin deep. The treatment can heal other skin conditions such as wounds, scar tissue, acne and dermatitis. Please also see our treatments for Post-Facial Surgery Healing.
