Brain and Nerve Health

Laser therapy for brain and nerve health

Laser Therapy is taking huge strides in the treatment of brain and nerve health, specifically for inflammatory neurodegenerative conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, dementia and Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and stroke recovery.

We help children of all ages with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), where we regularly see behavioural changes within a few sessions. We work with best of class medical Laser Therapy equipment so that we can carry out safe and efficient treatments with children, working on brain and gut health simultaneously. We supply the best home use devices so that parents can continue treatments at home.

Our work with the older generation uses Therapeutic Laser to reduce symptoms of Parkinson’s, Dementia and Alzheimer’s, and help with stroke recovery. Many Laser Therapy clinical studies worldwide have proved successful in helping relieve symptoms and slow the progress of neurodegenerative conditions.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) are also impacted positively with the appropriate use of Red Light Therapy, which reduces inflammation and increases mitochondrial energy to support healing and recovery. We also work with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), an aggressive form of Parkinson’s.

Our approach to laser therapy for brain and nerve health

Autism Spectrum (ASD)

Treatment focuses on resolving inflammation in the brain and gut microbiome to allow a natural development of the brain, which is thought to have been caused originally by trauma, sudden inflammation and environmental factors such as diet and hidden exposure to mould.

Parkinson’s & Dementia

We apply photobiomodulation therapy over the skull, central nervous system and gut. The treatment aims to reduce inflammation in the brain, increase gut microbiome, and increase the natural release of dopamine levels resulting in a slowing of degeneration.

Stroke & Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Low Level Laser helps to create an uplift in mitochondrial energy in the brain tissue via a process of photobiomodulation. This can help to improve healing and restore brain function. Studies show that laser therapy is more effective as soon as possible after the injury.

FAQs brain & nerve health

There are rarely any side effects reported from Red Light Therapy which is considered a safe and effective healing modality. Occasionally, people report a slight irritation on the skin’s surface, which calms within 24-48 hours. Clinical studies show that LLLT does not contraindicate with neurodegenerative conditions.

Yes absolutely. In fact children generally metabolise energy more efficiently than adults, which makes photobiomodulation therapy a very good intervention for children. We use appropriate dosage of light – our protocols are specifically developed for the younger generation – and we assess and monitor each child individually.

In general we start to see behavioural shifts after around 6 therapeutic laser sessions in our clinic. Sometimes parents report changes sooner than this, and improvements appear to progress exponentially thereafter. Every child is different, and each case is unique. For some there are no changes, but in the majority of cases laser therapy seems to trigger a process of healing which manifests in behavioural changes.

Parkinson’s is characterised by low dopamine levels and is also considered an inflammatory neurological condition which affects mood, energy, balance, speech and cognitive function. Photobiomodulation Therapy creates a natural lift in dopamine levels, helps to reduce systemic inflammation, and improves gut microbiome for digestion, which in turn positively impacts brain and nerve health.
