Reproductive and Endocrine Health

Red light therapy for fertility

Laser Medicine are pioneers in Red Light Therapy for Fertility, and support many people their fertility journey. Red Light Therapy essentially supports reproductive and endocrine health by stimulating an uplift in mitochondrial energy within the ovarian tissue. It also increases oxygenated blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, and reduces inflammation and scar tissue.

The Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) is developed in collaboration with expert fertility gynaecologists, where we deliver a combination of Red Light Therapy and Ovarian PRP for reproductive and endocrine health. Our protocol can help to restore and improve ovarian function for women over the age of 35 when reproductive health starts to decline. The ORP often shows an increase in AMH levels (an indicator of ovarian reserve) and a decrease in FSH (an indicator of ovarian hormonal function), and healthy live births for many of our patients.

Low Level Laser for hypothyroid & Hashimoto’s

Similarly, we lead UK and European research into the use of Therapeutic Laser for Hypothyroid, extending clinically proven photobiomodulation protocols for reproductive and endocrine health, to develop lower fluency protocols of our own. We support the work of Professor of Endocrinology in Pristina, Prof. Venera Berisha, and have co-authored several research papers over recent years, which support the efficacy of Photobiomodulation for reproductive and endocrine health.

FAQs reproductive and endocrine health

There are rarely any side effects reported from Red Light Therapy which is considered a safe and effective healing modality. Occasionally, people report a slight irritation on the skin’s surface, which calms within 24-48 hours. Clinical studies show that LLLT does not contraindicate with the presence of thyroid nodules.

Good question. Because of the depth of penetration required the best wavelengths are in the 800nm and 900nm range of light. These wavelengths are absorbed by blood and water and are scientifically proven to reach the greatest depth into the tissue. The 600nm wavelength, which is the red wavelength of light is only absorbed to a depth of 2-3mm and is better for skin.

If we work on the basis that eggs mature within the tissue over a period of 3-4 months we would advise regular sessions throughout the maturation period for the best results. Sometimes however people experience spontaneous pregnancies after one or two sessions. We advise on the best reproductive and endocrine laser protocol for each individual as everyone is unique.

We recommend an initial reproductive and endocrine health protocol of 6 sessions over a 3-4 week period. We record blood results before the protocol and 6 weeks afterwards to assess an uplift in thyroid function and the potential decrease of thyroid medication.
