Laser Medicine offers a comprehensive Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) at our Harley Street Clinic, London. The programme combines a number of clinically proven protocols in the application of Low Level Laser / Red Light Therapy for Fertility and Ovarian / Uterine PRP Treatments. The Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) is suitable for women of all ages, especially over the age of 35, who have failed to conceive naturally or by IVF due to unexplained reasons. (We also offer therapeutic laser treatments for men with low gonad function and sperm quality).

What does the Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) involve?

Building on protocols developed from our Low Level Laser Therapy for Fertility programme, the Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) combines Low Level Laser (Red Light Therapy) using advanced medical therapeutic laser equipment, with Ovarian and Uterine PRP, which is carried out by expert fertility gynaecologists at our Harley Street Fertility Clinic.

We tailor the Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) for each individual and / or the couple involved, however as a general guide the programme takes place over 8 consecutive weeks and includes the following course of treatments:

  • 6 Red Light Photobiomodulation Therapy / LLLT sessions.
  • 2 Ovarian PRP Treatments
  • Treatments delivered over an 8 week period:
  • 1 PRP treatment is followed by 3 LLLT sessions at weekly intervals, and then repeated in the second consecutive month.

How does Low Level Laser (LLLT) and Ovarian PRP work?

The Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) combines Therapeutic Laser (PBM/Red Light) with Ovarian / Uterine PRP to promote good reproductive health and improve fertility outcomes.

LLLT for Ovarian Rejuvenation

Therapeutic Laser is a safe and effective adjunct to support ovarian rejuvenation. It is also known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) and Red Light Therapy (because of the wavelengths used within the Infrared / Near Infrared range (600-1,000nm)). Clinical studies have shown the effectiveness of using Red Light for Ovarian Rejuvenation, which benefits the reproductive system in the following ways:

  • Enhanced mitochondrial activity and ATP production.
  • Increased oxygenated blood flow.
  • Reduced inflammation and oxidative damage.
  • Softening of scar tissue and its release through the body’s waste system.
  • Promotion of tissue repair and energetic integrity.

Ovarian PRP for Ovarian Rejuvenation

Ovarian PRP uses Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) from a sample of the patient’s own blood. A small sample of the patient’s blood plasma is injected into the ovaries under mild sedation. It is a short process carried out by expert gynaecologists in our Harley Street Fertility Clinic and clinical studies show positive results for improving ovarian function.

Ovarian PRP intends to rejuvenate ovarian tissue, stimulate vascularisation, improve blood supply and re-awake dormant eggs into maturation for development within the ovary. Uterine PRP has shown to increase the depth of the uterine lining, with clinical studies already supporting this methodology.

Who can receive treatment

The optimum age to improve fertility outcomes from our Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) is for people in the mature age group of 35-50, because reproductive cells are more likely to lack cellular energy from the ageing process. The Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP can improve the following:

  • Low ovarian reserve.
  • Poor egg quality.
  • Multiple implantation failures.
  • Miscarriage.
  • Hormonal imbalances.
  • Endometriosis and adenomyosis.
  • Painful periods (dysmenorrhoea).
  • Unexplained age-related infertility.

Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) Schedule

The Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) is recommended during the lead up to fertilisation, regardless of whether fertilisation is via natural conception or IVF. The ORP helps to prepares the body and reproductive organs, and create optimum conditions for conception to take place.

After the PRP and LLLT treatments have been delivered over the 8 week period, we recommend further LLLT treatments from Day 1 during the stimulation phase of an IVF egg retrieval cycle, or in the lead up to ovulation for a natural conception.

The Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) fees are as follows:
