At Laser Medicine London, we have created a powerful protocol for ovarian rejuvenation called the Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) for women trying to conceive, either naturally or via IVF. In close partnership with expert fertility gynaecologists, we are able to deliver a powerful combination of Therapeutic Laser (LLLT), with Ovarian and Uterine PRP, which we believe to be highly effective for ovarian rejuvenation and preparing the uterus for pregnancy.
Application of Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT), also known as Therapeutic Laser or Red Light Therapy, triggers a process of Photobiomodulation (PBM) for increased mitochondrial energy and blood flow within the reproductive organs. We have seen this safe and non-invasive therapy help to improve fertility outcomes for many people over the last few years, often increasing the number of viable blastocysts from an IVF cycle, and leading to successful pregnancies and live births either via natural conception or IVF.
The Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) combines Therapeutic Laser (PBM/Red Light) with Ovarian / Uterine PRP to promote good reproductive health and improve fertility outcomes, especially for women over 35.
- Therapeutic Laser is a safe and effective adjunct to support ovarian rejuvenation. It is also known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) and Red Light Therapy (because of the wavelengths used within the Infrared / Near Infrared range (600-1000nm)). We frequently see positive results in our London Photobiomodulation clinic.
- Ovarian PRP uses Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), which involves taking a small sample of the patient’s blood, and then injecting the plasma into the ovaries under mild sedation. It is a short process carried out by expert gynaecologists in our Harley Street Fertility Clinic and clinical studies show positive results for improving ovarian function.

Low Light Laser Therapy / PBM as an adjunct IVF treatment.
Laser Therapy, also known as Red Light Therapy or Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) has proven successful in various clinics worldwide as an IVF adjunct treatment and also to help with natural conception. Since the Oshiro fertility studies in Japan which took place over many years from 1996 to 2012 with repeated success, other clinics have also seen fertility success rates as high as 65%. Laboratory studies also repeatedly show the effectiveness of Low Level Laser Therapy for Fertility. This is due to the Photobiomodulation effect of Red Light, which supports the following:
- Enhanced mitochondrial activity and ATP production.
- Increased oxygenated blood flow.
- Reduction of oxidative damage.
- Improved energetic value of a developing embryo in early stages.
At our Harley Street fertility photobiomodulation clinic, we continue to monitor and celebrate the positive effects of Photobiomodulation Red Light Therapy for ovarian rejuvenation, reproductive health and fertility.

Ovarian PRP to improve fertility.
Ovarian PRP was developed in Athens, Greece, and its success has led to its adoption globally. We first worked with Penny Abatzi, the founder and clinic director at Serum, who shared Serum’s experience in this adjunct fertility therapy, to increase the chance of successful conception and pregnancy. Ovarian PRP is often used at Serum in combination with Red Light / Photobiomodulation Therapy.
Since Ovarian PRP is now licensed in the UK, we work closely with expert gynaecologists here, to offer the Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) in the heart of Harley Street, London, UK. As a team, gynaecologists carry out Ovarian and Uterine PRP procedures, and as therapeutic laser specialists working with medical therapeutic laser, we carry out the Therapeutic Laser treatments. Together we care for each individual patient, and continually assess improved fertility outcomes (an increase in viable embryos, successful implantation and healthy babies), using Therapeutic Laser / PBM and Ovarian PRP for ovarian rejuvenation.
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy as an IVF ancillary treatment.
Ovarian PRP is a newly pioneered procedure. Clinical trials are underway, and this clinical study published in Crete in 2023, offers further hope for women with early premature ovarian failure, diminished ovarian reserve and to those who are advanced in reproductive age, or have had repeated IVF failure or poor egg quality.
Ovarian PRP intends to rejuvenate ovarian tissue, stimulate vascularisation, improve blood supply and re-awake dormant eggs into maturation for development within the ovary. Uterine PRP has shown to increase the depth of the uterine lining, with clinical studies already supporting this methodology.
Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORP) at a glance.
Once we have established that the Ovarian Rejuvenation Programme (ORTP) is a suitable fertility option, we advise on a suitable programme of treatments. Typically this involves 2 PRP sessions and 6 LLLT sessions over an 8 week period. For more information please click here to read more…
